Recently, I had the opportunity to visit the Good Food and Wine Show in Cape Town. It was the first time I had attended one of these shows, and going to the Cape Town one seemed like a good start.
We spent eight hours walking with space; eating, watching, learning and cooking. Between meals, we wandered around, and we planted ourselves firmly in the theatre to watch the live demos. We even got to cook with Jenny Morris, making a delish lamb salad.
We ate absolutely everything our stomachs could hold! From Dim Sum, to Cheesecake, Jalapeno poppers to gelato. We signed up for a wine and food pairing as well. So good. We enjoyed every single morsel we scoffed, and in retrospect, we would have probably made space for another dish or two.
My only regret? Not being there on the Saturday when George Calombaris from Masterchef was there. I would have went completely fangirl…
I can’t wait for the JHB one at the end of July, to compare the two… I plan to spend one whole day there, eating my way through!
