Earlier this week, I was lucky enough to attend the launch of the brand spanking new Vitality HealthyFood Studio. It is a gorgeous space based at the Discovery Head Office in Sandton, filled with KitchenAid appliances, and the prettiest cooking utensils. It looks like my kind of heaven!
Discovery has collaborated with Prue Leith Chefs Academy and Woolworths to bring life back into your kitchen, and reignite the love for cooking. The super awesome chefs will show you how to make delicious, and healthy, food to impress at your next family meal or dinner (or brunch) party!
Cooking is, after all, a very social thing for me. I grew up in and around the kitchen, and watched my mom while she was cooking, whether just of us, or for friends coming over. She sometimes had a whole stove and oven full of yumminess going. And this, without breaking a sweat, or panicking. Most of the time, the best kuiers were had in the kitchen itself… around the pots and pans.
I virtually live in my kitchen. I experiment, I cook, I sometimes yell, and sometimes there are injuries as well. But, face it, sometimes your cooking gets a bit dull… and this might be the ideal solution for sprucing up skills, and learning to cook new yummy things.
Classes start from R495, and are themed as follows:
- Seasonal Delights – teaching you how to cook with seasonal ingredients
- Good food on-the-go
- Everything Fish
- Guilt-free desserts – yes, they can be healthy and delicious
- All about veggies
- Food for friends
All ingredients will be provided, and you’ll get the recipes to take home (electronically). You also eat what you cook, so listen up when chef talks… When you are done, you can also shop by recipe on the Woolworths site (yes, there’s a specific section), to make sure you can replicate the yum at home. So easy!
I’m looking forward to book my first visit. I’m thinking it should be a fish class, as it’s the one thing I’m always unsure of when I’m cooking it! I’m so scared of serving it undercooked…
The HealthyFood Studio is ideal for birthdays, or team builds. Bring a group of friends and cook the morning, or evening away!
